Dr. Gan Dunnington is a board certified cardiothoracic surgeon, specializing in minimally invasive complex cardiac procedures such as the Hybrid Maze for treatment of atrial fibrillation, mitral valve repair and replacement, transcatheter aortic valve replacement as well as VATS lobectomy for the treatment of lung cancer. Dr. Dunnington received his medical degree from Medical College of Virginia. He completed his residency at Stanford University where he also served as Chief Resident of Surgery. In addition, he also completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Virginia.

Prior to joining Adventist Heart Institute, Dr. Dunnington was an assistant professor at Stanford University and assistant director of cardiothoracic surgery at El Camino Hospital—a Stanford University affiliate.

Armin Kiankhooy

Armin Kiankhooy, MD

Dr. Armin Kiankhooy is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in the most advanced treatments for heart and lung failure and minimally-invasive surgical treatments for atrial fibrillation such as the Hybrid Maze procedure.

Dr. Kiankhooy completed his general surgery residency at the University of Vermont and a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Virginia. He later completed an advanced heart and lung failure fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, with a focus on heart and lung transplantation and mechanical circulatory support, including the total artificial heart.

Dr. Kiankhooy most recently treated patients and was a member of the faculty at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, where he served as director of MCS/VAD/ECMO and surgery director of wellness. Dr. Kiankhooy is active in research and publishes frequently. He is the recipient of the Etz Chiam Milgrom Award and the Richard J. Hurvitz Excellence in Teaching Award from USC.

Manly Hyde

Manly Hyde, MD

Dr. Manly R. Hyde earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. After completing his internship at Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, Ohio, he continued on to complete a residency in general surgery at Pontiac General Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan, followed by a cardiothoracic surgery residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He then completed fellowships at National Heart Hospital and Harefield Hospital in London, England. Dr. Hyde is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.

Aaron Kime

Aaron Kime, MD

Cardiothoracic Surgery

Dr. Kime, is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon through the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. His interests include aortic surgery both open and endovascular, coronary surgery, valve repair and replacement and ECMO. Dr. Kime received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago. He completed his internship and residencies at University of Southern California where he served as the Administrative Chief Resident for Integrated Cardiothoracic Surgery. Dedicated to his field, Dr. Kime is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and has engaged in research and academics with articles, editorials and poster presentations. Offering advanced care to address complex cardiovascular conditions, Dr. Kime looks forward to partnering with you in the care of your patients.
